Steve onboard Deepscan on Loch Ness

This one-of-a-kind, experience takes up to 12 guests on a journey where we’ll begin with the boat itself, Deepscan, named after the famous 1987 sonar expedition that swept the loch in search of the Loch Ness Monster. It’s a name that honours both the monster and the continuing exploration of the unknown.

Deepscan Cruise with The Loch Ness Centre passing Urquhart Castle

Of course, you’ll hear about Nessie – but there’s more to Loch Ness than meets the eye. From ancient eels and arctic char to surprising DNA discoveries, the loch is full of living secrets.

We’ll explore how climate change might affect the thermocline – subtle water temperature shifts – and reveal how the Great Glen Fault helped shape this dramatic landscape.

You’ll also hear incredible stories, from daring swims to John Cobb’s ill-fated speed record attempt.

As we cruise, you’ll spot the ruins of Urquhart Castle and see rare footage captured by our skipper – could it be the Loch Ness Monster? You decide.
