Hamish McHaggis Visits Loch Ness

Celebrating 20 Years of Adventures (2005–2025)

Rupert the hedgehog doesn’t believe in the Loch Ness Monster — but Hamish McHaggis knows better. To prove Nessie is real, Hamish and his friends set off on a new adventure to the famous loch. With the help of Angus the pine marten and Jeannie the osprey, they hope to show Rupert just how magical Loch Ness can be… if you know where to look.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the much-loved Hamish McHaggis children’s book series — written by award-winning Scottish author Linda Strachan and illustrated by Sally J. Collins. The stories follow Hamish and his friends as they explore some of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks — from Loch Ness to Glamis Castle, the Falkirk Wheel, Edinburgh, and beyond.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Linda Strachan will be revisiting many of the places featured in the books, starting in late April 2025, to help inspire a new generation of young readers with Hamish’s adventures across Scotland.
