From Drumnadrochit to Mallorca: The Bremner Legacy of Loch Ness Lives On

10th Jul 2025

At the heart of The Loch Ness Centre is a family legacy that began over four decades ago. In 1980, the Bremner family transformed the Old Drumnadrochit Hotel into what became the Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition – a place for curious minds to explore the mystery of Loch Ness and its most elusive monster. Spearheaded by the Bremner Family & Adrian Shine , the Centre quickly became a must-visit destination for those seeking the truth behind the legend.

Fast forward to 2023, and the story took its next exciting turn. The Bremner family passed the reins to Continuum Attractions, who invested £1.5 million into the site to create a completely reimagined, modern, and immersive cinematic experience. Today, guests to The Loch Ness Centre are taken on a journey that dives into the science, history, and folklore of the loch – and are invited to decide for themselves whether Nessie is real, a possibility, or a myth.

But the story doesn’t stop in Drumnadrochit…

This spring, the spirit of the Bremner legacy reached as far as Mallorca, thanks to David Bremner’s daughter, Georgia, who proudly introduced her classmates to the legend of Nessie as part of a special school project on Scotland. At just six years old, Georgia is now the fourth generation of the family to help spread the story of Loch Ness to the world.

Here’s what Georgia had to say about her experience:

“My name is Georgia Bremner and I’m six years old. We were learning about Scotland at school, and my parents and I chose to teach the class about Loch Ness and Nessie. Some children had heard of her, but not everyone – now they all have! So I’m continuing in my family’s footsteps.”

Her class loved hearing about the possibility of a monster in the loch. Georgia, who has visited Scotland many times and whose dad grew up in Drumnadrochit, even shared what she’d do if she went looking for Nessie:

“I’d take some binoculars and go out on the boat to try and find her. I think Nessie must eat the other fish in the loch – and I think she must be a friendly monster.”
