NEW Loch Ness Monster statue towering over two metres tall
2nd Jul 2025
2 July 2025: Today unveiled our brand new, two-metre-tall Loch Ness Monster statue at the heart of our experience.
The stunning sculpture has been hand-crafted by Inverfab, a family-run metalworks business based in Inverness. Serving as both a symbolic feature and an interactive installation, the sculpture is crafted from steel and spans several metres in length. Its dramatic curves, from towering humps to a high-reaching neck and head, reach an impressive 2.4 metres at her peak.
We’ll be inviting everyone to share their theories about what the monster might be by tying a ribbon that reflects their viewpoint: yellow for firm believers, blue for the open-minded, and orange for sceptics. Over time, these ribbons will weave together into a vibrant tapestry, a living display of the diverse theories and imaginations that surround the monster. Since we reopened in 2023, you’ve been offered a wide range of ideas about the Loch Ness Monster, from prehistoric plesiosaurs (27%) and natural wind patterns across the loch (12%) to more imaginative explanations, including the theory that Nessie might even be an alien (7%).
Nagina Ishaq, General Manager of The Loch Ness Centre, said:
“The beautiful new statue captures the wonders of the Loch Ness Monster. The sharing of stories and theories on the elusive beast is what has kept us all enamoured over the years. We’re also proud to continue to work with local businesses such as Inverfab through our work. The story of the monster has benefited the area so much it’s important that we continue to support one another. As guests from around the world explore the story of the elusive monster, they’ll now be able to physically mark their place in that history.”
Based in nearby Inverness, Inverfab is known for its bespoke metalwork and creative fabrication. The Loch Ness Monster statue, made using precision engineering and artistic flair, was custom designed to reflect the mystery and wonder associated with the famous monster.
The new addition is part of the Centre’s ongoing mission to immerse guests in the ongoing Quest from every angle, weaving together history, folklore, science, and real eyewitness accounts to let each guest draw their own conclusions.
